A mobile terminal having an image capturing function is provided to simultaneously display a preview image and a partially magnified zoom image according to an automation zoom function. An image sensor(160) captures an image of a subject. A microphone(150) receives a sound signal from the subject. A DSP(Digital Signal Processor)(140) senses a distance to the subject and a location of the subject according to the sound signal, and generates an image obtained by magnifying a portion of the captured image. A display unit(170) displays the image inputted from the image sensor(160). A storage unit(180) stores the captured image.
