<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of restraining the irregular gradation or the irregular color of an image caused by the non-uniformity of film thickness in the shaft direction of a photoreceptor by making the layout of an optical system cope with it. <P>SOLUTION: In the image forming apparatus which is provided with at least one or more image forming stations constituted by arranging an electrifying means, an exposure means, a developing means and a transfer means around an image carrier and where a toner image formed by the image forming station is transferred to a transfer medium, an optical scanner using a rotary polygon mirror 1 as a deflecting reflection surface and scanning a photoreceptor with a light beam through a scanning optical system 13 is used as the exposure means. The optical scanner and the photoreceptor are arranged so that the non-uniformity of the sensitivity distribution of the photoreceptor caused by the difference of the film thickness of the photoreceptor may be compensated by the characteristic of the light quantity distribution in the main scanning direction of the optical scanner shown by figure 1(c). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
