PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel Serum Amyloid A (SAA) protein associated with colostrum.

SOLUTION: The novel Serum Amyloid A (SAA) protein represented by a specific amino acid sequence and isolated and purified from the colostrum, is disclosed. The silent mutant of the SAA protein having one or several amino acids substituted, added and/or deleted with, to and/or from the amino acid sequence, capable of stimulating the production of mucin 3 (MUC-3), and characterized by a sequence TFLK present at the N-terminus region of the protein is also provided.
