<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reliably prevent illegal value-adding of money amount data into a recording medium by a recording medium value-adding device when disconnecting a power supply by an illegal action by accurately determining whether a power supply is disconnected due to a power failure or the illegal action. <P>SOLUTION: This recording medium value-adding device 1 is provided with a vibration sensor 6 as an illegal act detection means, a second memory 8 for storing illegal act information, etc. in addition to a control part 2, a money processing part 3, a card reading/writing unit 4, and a first memory 7 for storing a value-adding operation program. The device further comprises an auxiliary power system, such as a battery.
