RADIO TRANSMISSION AND RECEPTION UNIT FOR RADIO COMMUNICATION SYSTEM EMPLOYING DATA TRANSPORT BLOCK HAVING SELECTIVELY DEFINED SIZE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To minimize radio resource control RRC signaling and the number of possible transport channel TrCH transport block TB sizes in a third-generation time division duplex CDMA communication system.

SOLUTION: A physical layer of the CDMA electrical communication system receives blocks of transmission data in which a MAC header and logical channel data with respect to a selected logical channel relating to a specific transmission channel TrCH are included in a transmission block TB. Logical channel data of each TB has a bit size which can be equally divided by a selected integer N. The MAC header has a bit size such that the sum of it and the bit size of the logical channel data is equal to the bit size of TB. The fixed bit size of the MAC header relates to each logical channel for the specific TrCH, and is selected so that each fixed bit size of the MAC header is equal to M (an integer larger than 0 and less than N) modulo N.
