<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To coordinate inhibiting catalyst smell and inhibiting deterioration of a catalyst in an engine intermittently stopped. <P>SOLUTION: An engine ECU executes a program which comprises a step (S1010) of detecting various state quantities of the engine and various state quantities of a vehicle, a step (S1030) of judging whether or not measures for inhibiting the catalyst smell are necessary when measures for inhibiting the deterioration of the catalyst are judged to be necessary (YES at S1020), a step (S1040) of allowing intermittent operation of the engine when the measures for inhibiting the catalyst smell are judged to be necessary (YES at S1030) and a step (S1050) of prohibiting the intermittent operation of the engine when the measures for inhibiting the catalyst smell are not judged to be necessary (NO at S1030). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
