PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laser scanning apparatus, an image forming apparatus, a method of laser scanning and a method of forming image, in which a beam spot having a small diameter is available, high speed writing is possible, cost is low, and image is not deteriorated even when ambient temperature changes. SOLUTION: The optical system which guides a luminous flux from a light source to a deflection means has at least a diffraction optical plane and at least a resin lens, thus the beam spot having a small diameter is available, high speed writing is possible, the cost is low and image is not deteriorated even when environmental temperature changes.
