<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric power steering device capable of enhancing the convergence property of a steering wheel in returning steering operation. <P>SOLUTION: Steering torque T is sensed by a torque sensor, and a motor 10 to generate a steering assist force is controlled so as to generate a steering assist force complying with the fundamental assist torque T<SB>0</SB>corresponding to the sensed steering torque T. The phase of an output signal of the torque sensor is changed by a phase controlling element 62. The frequency response characteristic of the output to the input to the torque sensor 22 is arranged changeable in accordance with a determination result whether phase control characteristics of the phase controlling element 62 are in a return steering state generated by a steering state determination element 43g or in the turning steering state so that a gain in the return steering state can be made smaller in a high frequency band more than in the set frequency compared with a turning steering condition. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
