PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To change a period and a duty ratio timely as desired without controlling the timing of setting the period and the duty ratio with a CPU. SOLUTION: The pulse signal generating device includes a means 1 for storing two or more periods, a means 2 for holding a value corresponding to one of the periods, a circuit 3 which counts the number of input clocks, a circuit 4 which outputs coincidence signals when the output of the circuit 3 is coincident with the value held by the means 2, a circuit 5 which outputs pulse signals, considering a coincidence signal output point as a period determining point, and a circuit 6 which selects one of the periods stored in the means 1 corresponding to the input of control signals and outputs a value corresponding to the selected period to the means 2.
