PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reading apparatus capable of ensuring a stable MTF characteristic and preventing deterioration in the resolution of a read image so as to obtain an image stable at all times. SOLUTION: The image reading apparatus for using a charge coupled device 12 as an imaging element utilizes a piezoelectric element 11 acting like a control means to suppress a bent of a charge coupled device chip configuring the charge coupled device 12.
