PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication terminal capable of decreasing number of setting items and number of setting buttons such as dip switches by decreasing settings of the dip switches at a user side and software settings by a personal computer to the utmost extent. SOLUTION: In the communication terminal 1 capable of attaining wire connection of either of always-on connection and dial-up connection and not automatically carrying out routing switching of a communication infrastructure during the operation of the terminal, a control section 17 first confirms the presence/absence of the always-on connection, selects always-on connection for a communication infrastructure afterward when the wire is connected to a position of the always-on connection, and when the wire is not connected to the position of the always-on connection, the control section 17 selects the dial-up connection for the communication infrastructure afterward without confirming the presence/absence of the dial-up connection.
