PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To cope with the risk of damage when a shutter side edge part, which deviates from a guide track, is reinserted through an access opening. SOLUTION: A rolling type shutter device 3 designed to shut a window 1 or other openings has a shutter having the side edge part 4 which is retained within the guide track 5 during the movement of the shutter between an opened position and a closed position. Then the side edge part can disengage from the guide track, and each of the guide tracks has the access opening at its top. When the shutter is moving in the opened position, the corresponding side edge part 4 of the shutter passes the access opening and can be reengaged with the part positioned at the top of the access opening. Then control means 9, 10 are extended to the height which is at least smaller than the part 12 of the guide track on either side of a plane surface extended in the longitudinal direction through the guide track. Then the control means controls the imaginable oscillation of the shutter at the location where the side edge part passing the access opening is engaged with the part 12 of the guide track.
