<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an internal combustion engine starting device reliably restarting an internal combustion engine as soon as possible after establishing engine restarting conditions. <P>SOLUTION: The internal combustion engine starting device comprises an fuel injection valve 21 for injecting fuel directly into a cylinder, and an ignition plug 20 for igniting mixture in the cylinder. When engine stopping conditions are established, fuel injection from the fuel injection valve and ignition by the ignition plug are stopped. When the engine restarting conditions are established during the revolution of the engine after the engine stopping conditions are established, fuel is injected from the fuel injection valve into an expansion-stroke cylinder in the process of an expansion stroke and mixture in the expansion-stroke cylinder is ignited by the ignition plug. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
