PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly accurate abnormal sound inspection method capable of easily and reliably forming the correlation between human determination results and determination results by an abnormal sound inspection apparatus and replacing sensory tests. SOLUTION: Abnormal sound inspections for determining the quality of abnormal sound of a product 8 on the basis of data acquired by measuring sound generated from the product 8 by measuring means such as a rotating mechanism 1; a microphone 2; and a rotation control mechanism 3 are performed by the storage means of a reference sound data storage part 62 for storing sound data of the product 8 determined by humans as normal sound on the basis of measured data as a reference value; the processing means of a matching degree computation processing part 63 for computing the degree of matching between the sound data of normal sound stored by the storage means and the measured data of sound of the product 8 measured by the measuring means; and the determination means of a determination part 64 for determining the quality of abnormal sound of the product 8 through the use of results computed by the processing means.
