PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light- or heat-polymerizable fullerene capable of being shaped into any desired form and easy to produce industrially. SOLUTION: The polymerizable fullerene is represented by formula (1): Cn[(SiR<SP>1</SP>R<SP>2</SP>O)<SB>m</SB>(SiR<SP>3</SP>R<SP>4</SP>O)<SB>j</SB>SiR<SP>5</SP>R<SP>6</SP>-X-OC(O)-CR<SP>7</SP>=CH<SB>2</SB>]<SB>k</SB>(wherein R<SP>1</SP>to R<SP>6</SP>are each independently hydrogen or a 1 to 12C alkyl group, an arylalkyl group, or an aryl group; X is a 3 to 12C alkylene group; R<SP>7</SP>is hydrogen or a 1 to 12C alkyl group; C<SB>n</SB>is an nC fullerene; n is a positive number of 60 or greater; m and j are each a degree of polymerization and is a positive number of 1 to 100; and k is a positive number of 1 to 11).
