PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a garbage treatment apparatus which overcomes problems related to installation space and is easy to secure maintenance control, in a garbage treatment apparatus decomposing garbage with microorganisms by agitating the garbage, microorganisms for decomposing the garbage and water in a treatment tank. SOLUTION: The garbage treatment apparatus 1 is provided with a water supply pipe 16 to supply water into the treatment tank 11, a water stopping valve 161 to open and close the supply path in the water supply pipe 16, a check valve 162 to prevent the flowback in the water supply pipe 16 and a vacuum breaker 163 to adjust the pressure in the water supply pipe 16.
