METHOD FOR CONTROLLING A HELICOPTER POSITION IN A HOVERING MODE AND A SYSTEM FOR CARRYING OUT SAID METHOD

The group of inventions relates to controlling a helicopter position in a low-speed and hovering mode over a given point. The inventive method consists in carrying out a television overview of the surface under the helicopter, in determining the actual hovering altitude and/or the actual deviation therefrom and in displaying the thus obtained surface image, in subsequently determining the helicopter roll and pitch angle data items on the under-helicopter displayed surface image, in forming, according to said data items, the image of the vertical, with respect to the earth, projections of the helicopter longitudinal and transversal axes which are determined in the earth-based co-ordinate system, and pass through the helicopter center of gravity or the axes which are parallel thereto and directed through the helicopter structural elements, in applying the altitude scale image provided with the specified hovering altitude symbol and a symbol displaying the actual hovering altitude and/or the actual deviation therefrom, in superimposing, during the flight control, the intersection point of the axes projections with the specified hovering location image and in placing the index on the altitude scale near the specified hovering altitude symbol. The inventive control system comprises a control panel, a roll and pitch sensor, an altitude sensor and/or the deviation therefrom, a video camera, an indicator and a unit for processing television information. Said inventions make it possible to improve the helicopter control accuracy in a hovering mode by providing a pilot with a more instructive and complete information support during the helicopter manual and automatic flight control.
