A metallic baseplate (1) is applied with a thin priming layer (2). Quartz sand grains (3), each wider than the thickness of the thin priming layer, are studded on the surface of the priming layer. Art marble layers (4) of fine-grained minerals e.g. mixture of limestone and marble powder, are applied on the primer layer. The surface (5) of the topmost art marble layer is polished. An independent claim is also included for a method of manufacturing an art marble-coated metal plate.
