Independent claims are included for: (1) a method for the preparation of (I); (2) an agrochemical agent comprising (I) and plant protective auxiliary material and additives; (3) a method to combat weeds or to regulate growth of the plants comprises applying (I) on the plants, seeds or soil; and (4) use of a sulfonyl compound of formula (IIa) for the preparation of (I).
