A discharge bulb is provided to prevent scattered reflection and prevent leakage of discharge due to a high voltage by improving a structure thereof. A cap type top shade(11) is used for covering a top side of an HID bulb(5) including a lead line(10) and a lead line insulation pipe(9). The lead line and the lead line insulation pipe are extended from the top side of the HID bulb. The cap type top shade is formed with a high heat resistance resin since the cap type to shade is closely attached to the HID bulb for generating heat to 200 degrees centigrade at the time of light emission. The high heat resistance resin has a high insulation property in order to prevent leakage discharge which is generated by a starting voltage of 20,000V to be applied to the HID bulb. |
