<p>A cosmetic device is provided to resist breakage and, when used with water, control the amount of solid material flowing into the drain, thereby minimizing plumbing problems which causes clogged pipes. The cosmetic device comprises a solid or semi-solid cosmetic composition containing a unitary nonwoven web comprising fiber selected from the group consisting of absorbent fiber, cellulosic fiber, and polyester fiber. During use the nonwoven web penetrates a surface of the composition to provide a discontinuous surface to the cosmetic device. In the device, the cosmetic composition is a cleansing composition or a moisturizing composition. The method for preparing a cosmetic device comprises the steps of: (a) placing a nonwoven web into a mold; (b) moving a flowable cosmetic composition into the mold to allow the composition to saturate the nonwoven web; and (c) cooling the saturated nonwoven web to form a solid or semi-solid bar which includes a discontinuous surface provided by the nonwoven web during use.</p> |
