An XML(eXtensible Markup Language)-compatible WYSIWYG(What You See Is What You Get) editor and a server for offering the same are provided to offer convenience to a user wanting to author a webpage by offering the XML-compatible WYSIWYG editor for simultaneously editing contents/expressions of an XML document without inputting tags or stylesheets one by one in a component style. An XML DTD(Data Type Definition)/schema provider(201) defines components of an input document according to an XML structure. An XML linker(202) provides an API(Application Program Interface) for the input document. An XML style processor(203) processes document style information sent and displayed through the web. A link interconnector(204) supports a link function for the contents of the document. An error detector(205) checks an error through an operation parsing the XML document made from the input document. A controller(206) receives and makes the input document into the XML document by controlling each part, and displays the XML document to the web.
