A radar device and a distance measuring method thereof are provided to use a plurality of radar systems without interference within the same region by assigning a reference transmission frequency to each radar system. A signal waveform generator(6) is for generating a signal waveform. A frequency conversion unit converts the waveform generated from the signal waveform generator into a reference frequency signal. A transmission/reception unit receives or transmits an output signal of the frequency conversion unit from or to a target. A signal processing unit(11) detects the moving target by processing an output signal of the transmission/reception unit, calculates an initial speed and an initial distance of the moving target, and calculates a distance by signals received step by step.
