BACK LIGHT ASSEMBLY AND LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY APPARATUS HAVING THE SAME

A backlight assembly and an LCD having the same are provided to remove a dark line generated between discharge spaces, and reduce a thickness of the backlight assembly by disposing a condensing member having a prism pattern between a flat fluorescent lamp and a diffusion member. A flat fluorescent lamp(200) is divided into a plurality of discharge spaces, and generates light. A condensing member(300) is disposed on the flat fluorescent lamp, and condenses light. A support(340) is placed between the flat fluorescent lamp and the condensing member, and supports the condensing member. A diffusion member(400) is disposed on the condensing member and diffuses light. A prism pattern(310) includes prisms having various shapes, which are connected to each other.
