The present invention relates to a process for manufacturing an article ( 1 ) comprising a sheet ( 2 ) and at least one element ( 4 ) having a certain thickness, comprising the following steps: providing a sheet ( 2 ) with at least one cavity ( 3 ) open on one side; placing said element in this cavity ( 3 ) by applying, to said side, a structure ( 5 ) comprising at least one layer carrying the element, said structure being positioned with respect to the sheet ( 2 ) so that the element ( 4 ) is at least partly housed in the cavity ( 3 ).
