A motor controlling method having a voltage limit value changing function and an apparatus for the same are provided to prevent a delay due to a DC element when restoring a high instruction voltage to a low instruction voltage. In a motor controlling apparatus, an inverter applies voltage for driving a motor. A DC voltage unit applies DC voltage to the inverter. A DC link voltage sensing unit(900) senses the DC link voltage of the DC voltage unit. A voltage limit changing unit(910) varies the maximum limit value of instruction voltage by using the sensed DC link voltage.
