A display device is provided to increase the utilizing efficiency of an exterior input light, thereby improving the display brightness in a reflective mode, by orderly laminating a reflective polarizing plate, a lambda/4 retarder, and a functional transparent plate having first facets and second facets. A reflective polarization plate(15) is formed above a display panel. The reflective polarization plate transmits a first light and reflects a second light from an external incident light. Herein, the first light is linearly polarized in a first direction, and the second light is linearly polarized in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction. A first lambda/4 retarder(16) is provided on the reflective polarization plate. A functional transparent plate(17) is provided on the first lambda/4 retarder. The function transparent plate has an upper surface including first facets without cholesteric liquid crystal layers and second facets without the cholesteric liquid crystal layers. |
