摘要 <p>Subject of the invention is a gas-based power arrestor with integrated electronic ignition control, aimed at protecting electric and electronic devices against power surges from power networks. The technical problem which is successfully solved by this invention is the self-extinguishing feature of the gas discharge power device at a relatively low ignition voltage. According to the invention the gas discharge power device with integrated ignition control provides the possibility of constructingself-extinguishing two-electrode gas-based arrestors for power systems, where the external electrode (1) is represented by the metal sheath of the gas-based arrestor. According to the invention the ignition of the gas-based power arrestor is independent from the mechanical concept of the gas-based arrestor and is defined only by the parameters of the ignition circuit. The ignition circuit consists of a set of low-voltage sparking spots in area (B) as well as voltage limiters (5) with dynamic ignition voltage threshold. The ignition circuit is made by applying thick-layer hybrid technology on an ignition rosette (4) and is integrated in the gas-based arrestor itself directly beneath area (A) of the main sparking spot.</p>
