A method for controlling a home network system and a home network system for implementing the same are provided to allow a user to conveniently control a device by providing an input interface by using a mobile terminal. A mobile terminal(100) transmits a command for controlling devices, such as a computer(300a), a printer(300b) and a refrigerator(300n), to a server(200) through a communication module. The server(200) receives the device control command from the mobile terminal(100), reads it, and transfers a control signal for controlling the devices to the corresponding devices. The devices receive the control signal and perform corresponding operations according to the control signal.
