An equipment for protecting the bottom surface of a cold rolled strip, which improves actual yield of the cold rolled strip and greatly improves surface quality of the cold rolled strip by preventing damage of a top end section and a tail end section of the cold rolled strip caused by friction between the cold rolled strip and a shape measuring surface plate and preventing oil and alien substances from contaminating the cold rolled strip when recoiling a coil of a cold rolled strip, is provided. In an equipment for protecting surfaces of a top end section and a tail end section of a cold rolled strip, an equipment(1) for protecting the bottom surface of the cold rolled strip comprises: a cover(10) having a size capable of covering a surface plate(210) for measuring shape of the cold rolled strip; chain connection parts connected to the cover and disposed such that the chain connection parts are movable in a direction perpendicular to a proceeding direction(P) of the cold rolled strip; and a drive part(50) for driving the chain connection parts, wherein the cover moves forward and backward in an upper part of the surface plate for measuring shape of the cold rolled strip to selectively cover the surface plate.
