SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR OUTPUTTING ICONS BY HOT-KEY INPUT

A system and a method for outputting an icon by hotkey input are provided to concurrently perform diverse operations in many independent programs by separating a part analyzing the hotkey input and the part managing screen output. A microcomputer(110) detects a command inputted by the hotkey and outputs a corresponding scan code. A keyboard launcher(120) receives and analyzes the scan code, and transmits an output message of a hotkey icon. The output message represents a function of the hotkey according to the analyzed scan code. A system BIOS(Basic Input/Output System)(140) provides information needed for outputting the hotkey icon. A display manager(130) receives the output message from the keyboard launcher and outputs the hotkey icon by using the information received from the system BIOS. The system BIOS provides the information representing a current system state to the display manager.
