<p>A tape dispenser having a polymeric frame (14) with a cutler support portion (20) having a cut- ting edge (16) along one end, oppo- site side wall portions (26) attached along opposite side edges (24) of the cutter support portion (20), op- posed hub portions (28) projecting toward each other from the side wall portions (26) that are adapted to project into opposite ends of an opening through a tape core (13) to rotatably support the roll of tape (11), and locating tab portions (30) projecting toward each other from the side wall portions (26). The locating tab portions have arcu- ate retaining surfaces (32) adjacent and spaced from the support por- tion, and have opposed cam sur- faces (33) extending from the side wall portions to the inner ends of the locating tab portions that con- sistently cause tape being pulled from the roll of tape (11) on the side of the tab portions (30) oppo- site the retaining surfaces (32) to be guided around the locating tab portions when the tape is cut, whereupon the newly cut end portion of the tape will releasably adhere to the retaining surfaces (32) to retain those end portions in a position in a posi tion projecting from the roll at which they can easily b e manually engaged to afford withdrawing another length of tape from the roll. The fram e (14) of the dispenser also includes attachment portion s (40) with spaced opposed triangular projecting parts (42) under which can be enga ged parts of a paper card (50) that can be used to hang the dispenser on a pin when it is on sale in a store.</p> |
