An elongated stock material for use in manufacturing shaving razor blades (30), the material including an elongated, flat strip of metal having a fron t edge and back edge extending along its length, a sharpened cutting edge portion (38) extending along the front edge, a weakened portion (32) between the front edge and the back edge, a blade portion (34) between the cutting edge (38) portion and the weakened portion (34), and a removable portion (36 ) between the weakened portion (32) and the back edge. Also disclosed are blad es and cartridges made from the material, and methods and apparatus making and using the material.
