A hybrid clamping apparatus for an injection molding machine is provided to remove necessity of adjusting a distance between a movable clamp plate and a support frame when a mold is exchanged. A hybrid clamping apparatus for an injection molding machine includes a frame, a first clamp plate(30), a tie bar(40), a movable clamp plate(50), a fastening device(60), a second clamp plate(70), and at least one piston ram(82). The first clamp plate has a first mold half, and is fixed to the frame. The tie bar is fixed to the second clamp plate, and guides the movable plate. The movable clamp plate has a second mold half, and is slidably installed at the tie bar. The fastening device is installed at a rear surface of the movable clamp plate, and fastens the movable clamp plate to the tie bar. The second clamp plate is installed at one of the first and second clamp plates. At least one piston ram selectively adjusts a distance between the first and second clamp plates.
