A TV for automatically setting a viewing mood of a video object and a method therefor are provided to receive setting information from each video medium which stores the setting information about the viewing mood of the video object and output the video object by the viewing mood corresponding to the setting information. An audio processing unit(207) converts an acoustic signal decoded by a decoder(207) or an acoustic signal in image information transmitted from a media player(300) into an electric signal suitable for a speaker(206). A video processing unit(210) converts a video signal decoded by the decoder(205) or a video signal in the video information transmitted from the media player(300) into a signal suitable for a screen(216). An interface(214) receives the video information and setting information through communication with the media player(300). A control unit(213) controls at least one of the video processing unit(210), an image processing unit(215), and the screen(216) according to the setting information, adjusts the video information transmitted from the media player(300) as a viewing mood according to the setting information, and outputs the adjusted video information.
