A device for impregnating a polymer melt with fluid provided as an expanding agent or additive is provided to produce an impregnation body with the desirable structure, to reduce the volume, and to increase impregnation efficiency. In the device(1) for impregnating a polymer melt(2) with fluid(7) provided as an expanding agent or additive, an impregnation body(10) has a melt channel and a channel system supplying the fluid. The fluid guided from the system is separated from the stream of a melt(2') guided from the melt channel by gas permeable material, especially sintered metal. The impregnation body has plural melt channels produced by the gas permeable material and impregnated through open pores formed at the inside between an inlet and an outlet. The melt channel is produced by removing the material from one gas permeable material piece or the impregnation body is manufactured by a molding process. The materials are selectively removed only by finishing machining during the molding process. The melt channel is equipped with a static mixer for accelerating the distribution of diffused liquid in the flow of the melt.
