<p>The invention relates to a fungicidal and insecticidal fireproof product for wood and to the process for applying the same on wooden surfaces to obtain a protective film with high wood saturation capacity in the volume phase without re-moisturizing, covering the texture or modifying the natural colour of wood. The claimed product consists of two synergistic aqueous systems: a first solution having the capacity of penetrating the wood structure, comprising a mixture of sodium silicate, di-ammonium acid phosphate, borax, ammonia alum and sodium fluoride, Schweitzer's reagent and an alcoholic solution thereof, hexachlorocyclohexane (gamma isomer), and a second film-forming protective solution comprising borax, di-ammonium acid phosphate, sodium silicate, urelite or carboximethylcellulose (sodium or ammonium salt). The first solution is applied by spraying or brushing and the second film-forming solution is applied after 24 h during summer, at a relative air humidity of less than 60%, or after 72 h for cold and wet weather.</p> |
