Antenna for ultra-wide band frequency area having a new design is explained. Title of the invention is antenna as ultra-wide band parallelepiped monopole antenna. Antenna is of simple geometry and with height of 0,1λ as calculated at the lowest operational frequency. Based on the measured and simulated results, antenna has properly adjusted impedance match at frequencies from 1.8 GHz to 15 GHz. Radiation pattern is dipole like at lower frequency range and broadside at higher frequencies. Some important criteria in ultra-wide band antenna design are antenna's size and acceptable radiation pattern over entire range of operation. Problem with existing antennas is unacceptable radiation pattern at higher frequencies due to the fact that antenna becomes electrically large at higher frequencies. Measured and simulated results of proposed antenna show acceptable radiation pattern over entire range of operation. Because of very simple geometry, this antenna is very easy to manufacture.
