Provided are a functional UV paint that reduces VOCs and HCHO contained therein and decreases VOCs contained in a product coated with the UV paint, and a construction material using the paint and a preparation thereof. The functional UV paint comprises a flavonoid compound, a polyphenolic compound, a steroid compound, or a combination thereof, wherein the compounds have a molecular weight of 250-1000. The flavonoid compound or polyphenolic compound is at least one compound selected from the group consisting of anthoxanthins, anthocyanin, catechin, tannin, and caffeine. The steroid compound is at least one compound selected from the group consisting of cholesterol, saponin, and beta-carotene. |
