An internal combustion engine is provided to effectively cool a compressor controller of an exhaust gas turbo turbocharger even without using an additional cooling medium and without risk of additional contamination. An internal combustion engine includes an engine, an exhaust gas turbocharger, and an air cooler. The exhaust gas turbocharger includes a turbine for expanding flow of exhaust gas emitted from the engine; and a compressor for compressing flow of combustion gas to be supplied to the engine. The air cooler is connected between the compressor and the engine, and the compressor includes a compressor rotor having operating blades and a compressor controller(11) arranged at a lower stream of the compressor rotor. The compressor controller has guide blades(10). At least several guide blades of the compressor controller have holes(17,18), and cooled air is supplied to the uncooled air flow existing in the region of the compressor controller through the holes.
