Cableway installation with rotatable cableway transport devices

A cableway installation for transporting gondolas along a hauling cable is disclosed. The gondolas are attached to the cable via suspension rods and are able to rotate about the rods by means of a turntable unit. The gondolas disconnect from, and reconnect to, the cable at stations and are guided through the station entry and exit areas by guide rails. A detector device in the entry area monitors the rotational orientation of an incoming gondola and will halt the cableway if a preset limit of rotation is exceeded.
