FIELD: mechanical engineering; internal combustion engines. ^ SUBSTANCE: according to invention, proposed four-stroke internal combustion engine has crankshaft with power piston brought into first cylinder with sliding and compression piston brought for sliding into second cylinder. Power piston reciprocates and provides working stroke and exhaust stroke during one revolution of crankshaft, and compression piston, reciprocating, provides intake stroke and compression stroke during the same revolution of crankshaft. First and second cylinders are connected by gas channel gas channel contains intake and exhaust valves forming pressure chamber in between in which gas pressure set to provide ignition during full four-stroke cycle by means of intake and exhaust valves is maintained. Axis along which power piston reciprocates is displaced relative to axis of crankshaft so that point of maximum combustion pressure applied to power cylinder coincides with point of maximum torque applied to crankshaft during working stroke. ^ EFFECT: increased thermal efficiency. ^ 15 cl, 11 dwg |
