The device has a cubic box (1) fixed on a surface (S1) and an arm (2) including a threaded rod on its one end and a return spring at its another end for pivotally mounting the arm inside the box. The box includes a slit (5) to freely move the arm. The arm carries a graphical transcription unit (6) with a graphite lead for producing a trace in a plane parallel to the rotation plane of the arm. A tray supporting the transcription unit is maintained in position with respect to the arm using cross-pieces.
