A refrigerator is provided to keep food at a precise temperature area, which is specific to the food. A refrigerator includes a freezer compartment(7), a first refrigerating compartment(8) for keeping food at a temperature higher than zero degree, and a second refrigerating compartment(9) defined separately from the first one. A temperature control unit controls temperature and/or humidity of the above compartments individually. The temperature control unit controls various function and temperature together or separately with first and second control parts, wherein the functions are controlled by the first control part according to user's input signals and predetermined determination required for temperature control is carried out by the second one.
