A method for assembling a cover, comprising the steps of: inserting ring elements of a ring binder through apertures in a flexible surround, the flexible surround having a outer back panel, spine panel and front panel, a first score line between the outer back panel and spine panel and a second score line between the spine panel and front panel; wrapping the flexible surround about a base of the ring binder to encapsulate the base of the ring binder by folding the surround at the score lines; fastening the flexible surround with the base of the ring binder encapsulated therein to a member forming at least a rear cover, the ring elements extending through the surround and exterior the surround; and inserting a free end of a ring element into an aperture in the base to receive the free end.
