Provided are a method for forming a coating film, which improves durability of a coating film against deformation or flexibility of rubber, and thus inhibits the coating film from peeling off, and a coating material. The method for forming a coating film consists of forming a coating film(30) on the surface of a rubber material by coating the surface of the rubber material with a coating material(20) comprising a resin and a solvent capable of swelling the rubber. The resin imparts a releasing property to the surface of rubber. The coating material(20) is mixed with a filler capable of imparting a sliding property to the surface of the rubber.
