A method for downloading contents from a server to a recording medium and the recording medium for the same are provided to enable an unskillful user to easily handle and download the contents stored in a database of the server to the recording medium through the Internet. The recording medium is connected to a network device. Connection between the network device and the server is set. The contents are downloaded to the recording medium from the server through the network device. Connection setting and content download are managed by an application program activated after the recording medium is connected to the network device.
