Weighing device for excavator payloads

A load estimating device for an excavator comprising a plurality of sensors measuring the relative angles between components of the lifting mechanism and one or more inclinometers and/or accelerometers measuring inclination of the machine, angular speed of rotation, etc.. A controller calculates lift factors from the sensor information, estimates a maximum payload for the machine in its present orientation and indicates this to the operator. The controller may also retain lift information for later reporting.
