DISPLAY DEVICE AND DISPLAY METHOD

A display device and a display method are provided to effectively improve resolution by simple composition and operation. An image forming device includes the first to the third LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) panels(5a-5c), the first to the third PBSs(Polarized Beam Splitters)(4a-4c), and an x-prism(6). The image forming device forms an image by using light emitted from a lamp(1) and an inputted image signal. A projection lens(10) projects the image formed in the image forming device on a screen(12). A displacement plate(11) is moved to displace the image displayed on the screen(12). An input signal providing device provides an input signal so that the displacement plate(11) is driven by a waveform of a Fourier series type.
