A bi-fold door assembly has a sill 5 and two door panels that are bi-foldable. The sill 5 has a track 15 provided in a cavity 19 below an upper surface of the sill 5. The track 15 receives a weight bearing surface 23 supporting at least one of the door panels. During opening or closing of the doors, the weight of at least one door panel is carried wholly within said track and below an upper surface of the sill 5. When the doors are in a closed condition, the track 15 is wholly under the door panels.
